Wildlands 2025

Wildlands 2025

R90 Lighting was asked to provide the lighting support for the Wildlands Festival in Big Sky, MT. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Lone Mountain, the festival brings together world-renowned musical artists, local communities, and environmental leaders for a multi-day celebration of culture, nature, and sustainability.

Produced by Outlaw Partners, Wildlands is more than just a concert, it’s a platform for conservation advocacy. The event raises significant funds and awareness for organizations dedicated to protecting the ecosystems of the Greater Yellowstone region and beyond. This year’s festival was headlined by Dave Matthews as a solo act, with support by Lukas Nelson and Molly Tuttle.

The festival was a resounding success for conservation efforts, generating a remarkable $1.3 million in total contributions. Of that, $650,000 was raised through ticket sales and charitable auctions, while an additional $650,000 was personally donated by headliner Dave Matthews!

R90 Lighting provided lighting and rigging for the event. This year’s project management for the show fell on the shoulders of native Montanan and year-round skiing enthusiast Rachid Schultz, who also doubled as the lighting designer and board operator for the event. The build itself was executed by master electrician, Levi Plumb.

This year’s lighting rig had a variety of fixtures on it from our inventory:

The rig was controlled by two grandMA3 Full Size consoles through Luminex Gigacore 16t network switches and Obsidian Netron EN12 nodes.

Lighting isn’t everything, as much as we want to believe it is. It takes a village to produce these shows. We’d like to give a shout-out to our partners-in-production for Wildlands this year:
